About Scouting in Charing

Charing Scout Group covers a large area taking in many of the surrounding hamlets and villages. We have four sections offering over 100 young people each week great programmes.

We are a uniform movement and wearing a uniform is comfy and practical. It means no one feels uncomfortable or left out and helps everyone feel part of the group.

Our uniform consists of a UK Scout Association shirt that you can sew badges on and a coloured scarf or 'necker’ to represent our local group. There're lots of other optional accessories you can wear such as hats, hoodies, trousers or our Group T Shirt.

We want to prepare more young people with skills for life, supported by amazing adult volunteers delivering an inspiring programme. We intend to grow a more inclusive, youth shaped Scout Group making a bigger impact in our community

Youth Shaped

Over the years there has been a growing momentum to ensure young people are shaping their experiences and taking on leadership roles at Scouts. We want to continue to build on this.
